Story Telling Still Life

The still life can be a powerful story-teller and that’s what your next assignment is all about. Prop gathering is a big part of the job. A client may want an interpretive shot that in some way expresses the essence of their product. Not a product shot per se but some sort of behind the scenes image that talks about the process of creation…something the viewer can relate to in terms of the “how it’s made” scenario.

The client may turn you loose and send you out to prop hunt in the facility to find just the right stuff. You’ll need to ask questions and find out the feel and complexity they’re looking to capture. Every job starts out as a learning mission full of questions and answers.
